Nineteenth century copies of correspondence, orders, and other papers of Leisler, primarily relating to events in the two years prior to his execution for treason and his family's later efforts to reclaim his land (1689-1696). Much of the correspondence was received from government officials in Connecticut, including Robert Treat and John Allyn, relating to the turmoil in that state and New York following the Glorious Revolution in England. Other items in the volume include a manuscript history of these events by an unknown author (158 p.) and two documents concerning the restoration of his lands to his family by the Crown.
